The 10th NIVAS Conference 2022

The NIVAS Board were delighted to see so many of you at the annual conference that took place face-to-face on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th June at the Birmingham Conference and Event Centre.

This multidisciplinary and multi-professional event covered all aspects of vascular access, and also looked back on how clinical practice in vascular access and IV therapy has evolved over the past 10 years. The conference gave an opportunity to look at current trends in clinical practice, new device, materials, indications for the choice of the device, insertion techniques, tip location methods and prevention and management of all vascular access device (VAD) related complications like infection, thrombosis, occlusion medical adhesive related skin injuries and care & maintenance.

Discussions focused on the issues of safety, cost effectiveness and efficiency in vascular access, updates on guidelines for the clinical practice, technology advances, evidence-based practices and networking.

Educational sessions offered an exceptional occasion for updating vascular access knowledge as well as sharing experiences and learnings about future trends and innovations.
