This year’s conference is focusing on implementing  national standards of practice to improve patient safety.

This multidisciplinary and multi-professional conference will cover all aspects of vascular access and IV therapy. The themes this year is around evidence based standards of practice, looking at current trends in clinical practice, new concepts and devices and how to improve standards to improve patient outcomes.

The new national Clinical Standards for Vascular Access & Intravenous Infusion Therapy will be presented and explored as well as other recent clinical guidelines protocols. 

The conference is an opportunity to network, gain new knowledge and interact with our industry partners, exhibitors and NIVAS members.

Call for Abstracts

Delegates are invited to submit abstracts for poster and/or oral presentations showcasing work in the field of infusion therapy and vascular access.

Abstracts should be submitted to Media1 Productions by 5.00pm on Monday 27 April 2026.

All submissions will be reviewed, and selected authors will be invited either to present a poster or to deliver an oral presentation at the conference.

The theme for this year’s conference is Standardising excellence: shared standards, shared responsibility, shared safety. Submissions aligned to this theme are welcomed; however, abstracts on other relevant topics will also be considered.
Benefits for accepted abstracts
The lead author of an accepted abstract will receive:
  • A certificate of abstract acceptance
  • A reduced two‑day conference registration fee of £200 (inclusive of VAT)
  • Publication of the abstract in the Conference Report, which will be uploaded to the conference website
Awards
The following awards will be presented on the final day of the conference:
  • Best Poster: £75 Amazon voucher
  • Best Oral Presentation: £75 Amazon voucher
