Apologies if this phrase offends anyone. However, I have been called this during my time as a Vascular Access Nurse Specialist, and I find it offensive.

It comes from those ignorant of our specialist role and all it encompasses. We know that the specialist vascular access practitioner's role is far more than this. 

We don’t just insert lines all day. Therefore, I have chosen to defend this and discuss what a good vascular access specialist nurse/practitioner encompasses.
