Reducing unnecessary glove use is gaining traction in the NHS, and for good reason

Emily Smith talks about the use of gloves in the workplace.

Globally, there is a need to reduce unnecessary waste and the significant amount of waste associated with disposable equipment in the NHS.

The health service is responsible for 4-5% of the UK's total carbon emissions and 40% of public sector emissions. This makes the carbon footprint for the NHS pretty heavy.

In my workplace, staff used over 44 million gloves in one year alone.
