I qualified as a registered nurse from Kings College London in 1996 and since this time I have worked in a number of different clinical areas and organisations gaining experience across the whole of the NHS.
It was while working as a Critical Care Outreach Sister that I became interested in IV access and therapy.
My present role has involved me being instrumental in setting up both the Vascular Access Service and the Hospital at Home (OPAT) service for East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust aiming to provide excellent, innovative, cost effective, safe, efficient care with the patient at the heart of it.
I have an MSc in Inter-professional Health and Social care from Canterbury Christchurch University and am a registered non-medical prescriber. I regularly preset at local, national and international level and have I have had a number of articles published in peer reviewed nursing journals through out my career.
