Maya Guerrero is a Clinical Specialist Lead at NHS Supply Chain, supporting quality improvement, patient safety, and innovation, alongside value-based procurement initiatives. She also remains clinically active as an Honorary Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the field of Vascular Access and IV Therapy.
With over 20 years’ experience across medical and surgical settings, she has held a range of leadership roles and joined the Department of Health and Social Care in a national role in 2018. Prior to this, she was Vascular Access CNS and Deputy Service Lead at Frimley Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, contributing to the development of the IV Access Service.
She is an Independent Non-Medical Prescriber and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Practice. She has completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Patient Safety and Quality Improvement and is currently pursuing her Master’s at the University of Oxford.
Maya presents at national and international conferences and is a member of the BJN IV Supplement Editorial Board, NIVAS Board Member and Treasurer, and a Silver Awardee for 2024 BJN Vascular Access Nurse of the Year.
